Cover Supervisor - Wellingborough

Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a confident and reliable Cover Supervisor to join a supportive secondary school in Wellingborough.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is looking to gain valuable experience within a secondary school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of their regular teacher, ensuring students remain focused and engaged with the work provided.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervising classes across a range of subjects in the absence of the class teacher.

• Delivering pre-prepared lessons and ensuring students complete the work set.

• Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Supporting students with their learning and answering questions where appropriate.

• Registering students and following school procedures.

• Providing feedback to teaching staff on student behaviour and engagement.

• Ensuring classroom resources and equipment are used appropriately.

• Supporting the wider school community where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a school setting.

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

• Confidence in supervising groups of secondary-aged students.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• A calm, patient, and professional approach.

• The ability to work independently and use initiative.

• A genuine interest in supporting students' education and development.

• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
