Internal Sales & Customer Service Advisor

Location: Northampton
Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum + KPI Performance-Based Bonus
Hours: Monday – Friday
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We are currently recruiting for an Internal Sales & Customer Service Advisor to join a well-established and growing business based in Northampton.

As an Internal Sales & Customer Service Advisor, you will be a key point of contact for customers, supporting them from their initial enquiry through to order fulfilment.

You will combine excellent customer service with a proactive sales approach, identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell and develop existing customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to customer enquiries via telephone, email and live chat.
• Provide professional product advice, quotations and pricing information.
• Convert enquiries and quotations into confirmed sales.
• Identify opportunities to upsell and cross-sell products and services.
• Generate and follow up sales leads to maximise conversion.
• Build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
• Support the onboarding of new customer accounts.
• Assist the Key Account Manager with account development and customer care.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor backorders and keep customers updated on availability and delivery.
• Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity within the CRM.
• Liaise with Purchasing and Operations to resolve stock, delivery and order queries.
• Maintain strong product knowledge and stay up to date with company products and services.
• Contribute to wider sales and customer service initiatives.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Experienced within customer service, internal sales or account management.
• Confident communicating with customers by telephone, email and online.
• Commercially aware with the ability to identify sales opportunities.
• Proactive, positive and customer-focused.
• Organised with excellent attention to detail.
• Comfortable working towards KPIs and sales targets.
• Able to manage multiple priorities within a busy environment.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• A strong team player who enjoys working collaboratively.
