Cookroom Operative – Food Production

Location: Wellingborough
Hours: 4:00am – 1:00pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £14.62 per hour (4:00am–6:00am) and £12.71 per hour (6:00am–1:00pm)
Job Type: Full-time

We are currently recruiting for a Cookroom Operative to join a busy food production company based in Wellingborough.

This is a hands-on role working within the cookroom, where you will be responsible for preparing ingredients and operating industrial mixers and other production equipment. The role is physically demanding, and heavy lifting is required, so you must be comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operating and cleaning industrial mixers and cookroom equipment.
• Weighing, measuring and preparing ingredients accurately.
• Following production recipes, processes and food safety procedures.
• Moving and lifting ingredients and raw materials, including heavy bags and containers.
• Ensuring production targets and quality standards are met.
• Completing production records and paperwork accurately.
• Using a computer to enter and record production information.
• Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Following all company health & safety and food hygiene procedures.

About You

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience working in a food production, manufacturing or similar environment.
• Be physically fit and capable of regular heavy lifting.
• Be confident operating machinery, ideally including industrial mixers.
• Be competent using a computer and comfortable entering information accurately.
• Have good attention to detail and the ability to follow recipes and instructions.
• Be reliable, punctual and able to work the 4:00am start.
• Be comfortable working as part of a team in a busy production environment.
• Have a good understanding of health, safety and hygiene standards.

Previous experience in a cookroom, bakery, food manufacturing or production environment would be advantageous, although relevant manufacturing experience will also be considered.

Working Hours & Pay

The working hours are 4:00am to 1:00pm.

• 4:00am – 6:00am: £14.62 per hour
• 6:00am – 1:00pm: £12.71 per hour
